Bennett J. Grove II
Founder & CEO
Bennett attained a majority of his small business acumen as the Founder, Owner and CEO of Fire Dawgs Junk Removal. The inspiration for what became Fire Dawgs came from his time in the military, having served the greatest country in the world for 6 years in the Air Force as a firefighter. After serving in the military, he transitioned his firefighting career to the civilian side working for the Department of Defense as a civilian firefighter. While Bennett was still a full time firefighter, Fire Dawgs surpassed the elusive 7 figure mark as a home services company with three locations in Indiana. Although building a 7 Figure Side Hustle was an exciting accomplishment, the work was only getting started and led to a professional fork in the road. After 17 years in the fire service, Bennett hung up his bunkers and boots to work full time in Fire Dawgs Junk Removal.
Once the decision was made for Bennett to go into the business full time, Fire Dawgs Junk Removal took off! After back to back years of over 100% growth, the team finished 2022 with 25 service trucks, 8 locations and completed two acquisitions. Going into 2023, Bennett tackled a new challenge which was going through the sale process with a private equity firm interested in the junk removal industry. This partnership accelerated the company’s growth even faster and helped build the largest private, non-franchised junk removal company in the United States giving independent owners an alternative plan for growth while also creating career upside for their valuable team members. From a 7 Figure Side Hustle to an 8 Figure Business at the end of 2023 with 14 locations. As always, the journey was filled with wins, losses, valuable learning opportunities and a wealth of knowledge.
When you think about a home services company, where all the work is self performed and not sub-contracted, it takes guiding principles, mission and core values to build a winning culture. Without a culture and structure, your teams can’t help you take the business to new heights. Using a “Lead. Develop. Grow.” mentality with your team members is crucial regarding Mission, but you also need to build a team whose values are Forged with F.I.R.E. – At Firepreneurs, our CORE VALUES are defined below:
F. – Faith, Family & Fitness
I. – Iron Sharpens Iron
R. – Resilient & Reliable
E. – Enrich the Lives of Others
